Fines & Fees

When you become a member of the library, you agree to make every effort to promptly pay fines and fees for overdue, lost, or damaged items.


Fines may be paid at the first floor services desk with cash or with a credit or debit card. You may pay by credit or debit card online through our website using e-Pay or at any check-out satation. A minimum $1 fee is charged by ePay for using this service; the library does not collect the service fee.


Fines in excess of $10 or fines that have accrued for 21 days or longer will affect your access to library services, including accessing your account, library computers, electronic resources, and self-checkout stations.

Videos, computer software, DVDs, Blu-rays, video games, Playaway Views, Hot Picks, eReaders $1 per day
Other materials 10¢ per day

Maximum fines

eReaders $50 per item
Videos, multimedia kits, computer software, ILL material, DVDs, Blu-rays, Hot Picks, video games, Playaway Views $10 per item
Periodicals, Cliff Notes, vertical files, comic books $1 per item
Other materials $4 per item

Lost or damaged material fees

Audio-visual case $3 per item
Computer software, multimedia kits, video games, audio books Original purchase cost, even if partially missing
Other materials Cost of replacement

When payment is made for lost materials, overdue fines are waived. Exact replacement in new condition for lost or damaged items may be accepted in lieu of payment.

Appeal of Fines

Members who desire consideration for an appeal of fines due to extenuating circumstances may file an appeal. Please complete the Library Fine Appeal Form, which is also available at any Member Services Desk. You may be asked to provide documentation in order to expedite the appeal process.
